Aerojacket Disc Covers
On a flat course 80% of your power is used to overcome wind resistance so by improving the aerodynamics of your wheels you can concentrate on racing faster.
Our Bike-fitting and Aero Expert Joe Beer (JBST.com) calculates the disc cover to give anything from a 5 to 10 watts reduction in drag.
Wind Tunnel data has shown the wheel cover to be significantly lower in drag compared to an uncovered wheel. More importantly, riders using the cover have been able to still use their PowerTap hubs for perfect pacing and or race data.
A covered wheel has dramatically lower aerodynamic drag than an uncovered wheel.
From wind tunnel testing a wheel with an Aerojacket Disc Cover attached gives virtually identical performance results to a Disc Wheel through the entire range of yaw angles: 0-30 degrees.
Beyond 10 degrees of yaw the Zipp 808 with a disc cover has less drag than the fastest Disc wheel on the market, making one of the fastest wheels around.
