The ‘Southfork Experience’.   What we are.   At Southfork we pride ourselves on providing the very best service and the very best products. We have been servicing the local community for all their cycling needs since 2001 and providing the finest stock and custom bicycles for road and mountain biking racers and enthusiasts from all over this country, Europe and even as far as South Africa.    Location, Location, Location; Nestled in the heart of Braunton, North Devon. You may not think you would find one of the most specialist cycle shops in the country, however if you are into Extreme sports like Surfing, Climbing, Kite surfing and Mountain Biking you will no doubt know about Braunton. North Devon’s sporting environment is perfect with long sandy beaches, high cliffs and has Exmoor and Dartmoor on its doorstep. Braunton is home to thirteen surf shops, one skate shop and also is the venue of the Goldcoast Surf Festival.   Southfork ‘the specialist bike shop’. The shop was created for 2 reasons, we felt the area was lacking in a one stop shop for people keen on cycling at all levels of ability and therefore set out on getting the best brands to sell like Litespeed, Kona, IronHorse, GT, Look and Felt. With great brands came the need for great people and we pride ourselves on having some of the best and most knowledgeable people in the cycle industry today.   Southfork ‘the village bike shop’. The second reason we started the shop was to service the local community and unlike a lot of the ‘Elite’ shops we stock kids bikes for all ages and stock bikes for everyone as not all people want a bespoke custom build. We work closely with the local schools and employers to raise the awareness of the benefits of all types of cycling.   In the workshop, we can do it all, from frame alignment, wheel building, disc brake facing, general servicing and Hydraulic brake and shock servicing. Frame respraying is also a service we provide.   Who we are.   Chris Green – Founder. Chris has been in the bicycle business all his working life, and has been a racer from the first ‘boom’ of BMXing. When the mountain bike scene started Chris was instantly hooked, racing XC in the UK and USA.Downhill at national level, whilst racing XC in America he got invited to race a winter season of Cyclocross and was a podium finisher in the Virgina state Championships and a top ten finisher of the Eastern Chapionships. Working in bike shops in the UK and funding his racing by working in shops over there, Chris decided set up on his own with a business model which would be good for all types of riders.   Herny Benning – Mechanic.  Die hard downhiller and secret time trialer. Henry has been a bike mechanic for five years and prides himself on doing a first class job. He is trained and has attended many courses. Henry has been a part of the business since the beginning and has built a great repore with customers who travel to Braunton for Henry to set their bikes up for them from all over the country.   Nick Butler - Manager. Nick has been with the business for the last two years as the shop manager, he came to from an international manufacturing background and brings a level of professionalism desperately lacking throughout the bicycle trade. Nick is a national masters DH racer and competes at cross country and Duathlon events. He is an ex- European Water Ski racing Champion, racing at speeds of up to 100 mph and therefore is ‘the real deal’ of extreme sports.     If you are looking for the best bike at any price point and you want to talk to people who know what they are talking about, call in and we will be able to send you on the right road or ‘off road’.
