The People at Southfork

Nick Butler, The Guv'nor.

When the shop was founded everyone believed that if you took part in the sports you were selling the equipment for it helped on every level, from expertise to keeping up with all the new developments. Nick is the true example of this. He has been European Water-ski racing champion before getting into cycling. He races Downhill and Mega Enduro in the UK and France, XC at national level and he is the 'dark horse' at many road races. As soon as you put a corner or climb in a road race he is at the front! People often claim to be 'Extreme' or 'Hardcore', but in Nick's case he is!

Henry Benning, Marketing and IT Wizard.

Henry has been with the business since day one. Starting as the Saturday boy and progressing from there, he has been a pivotal part in Southfork becoming the business it is today. As he is a ‘computer geek’ he is responsible for the website and our marketing and also anything artistic. He can also ride a bike, racing in the Expert Category at the national Mountain bike series.

Martin Crocker, Retail Manager.

Martin has come from a background of high street sports retail and corporate retail. He has brought a professional level of customer service and helped us put systems in place to keep the customer informed every step of the way in their purchasing and servicing experience at Southfork. Whether you are repairing your ‘old faithful’ or buying your ‘dream bike’, you as the customer will receive the very best customer service.

Like everyone else Martin is a very proficient athlete, competing in Triathlons, Road Races and Mountain bike events all over the country.

And Finally...

Chris Green, Founder.

10 years ago Chris realised that although there were a lot of bike shops in the Southwest, few catered for the real ‘Athlete’, coupled with the Fitness and extreme sports lifestyle the North Devon Coast attracted he felt a specialist bike shop was need. Although the fitness and extreme sports customers are important and to a degree the inspiration, it was also and still is important to be the ‘Village Bike Shop’. It is as important to be fixing punctures for passing touring cyclists and fitting baskets to shopping bikes as selling ‘Tour De France’ level equipment. Southfork is a friendly, professional environment for everyone into cycling of every type. As Every type of cycling is what Southfork Cycles does.
